DAMBRUCH Introduced By: Representatives Shekarchi, Blazejewski, Chippendale, McNamara, Solomon, Kennedy, Ackerman, Fellela, Ajello, and Diaz Date Introduced: January 08, 2026 Referred To: House read and passed 1 WHEREAS, It is with sadness that this House has learned of the passing of the 2 Honorable Edward L. Dambruch, the beloved husband to the love of his life, Joan Dambruch, for 3 sixty-six years, and the very proud father of Stephen Dambruch and Lynn Dambruch; and 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Dambruch was a son of the late Francis and Mildred Dambruch, and the 5 brother of the late Francis Dambruch and Mildred Centore; and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Dambruch earned his Bachelor's degree in Education from the 7 University of Rhode Island and a Master's degree from Rhode Island College. In 1956, he began 8 his career in education with the Cranston School Department at Park View Junior High School 9 and ultimately served as Principal of Western Hills Middle School until 1974, at which time he 10 took a position with the Rhode Island Department of Education, retiring as Assistant 11 Commissioner in 1990; and 12 WHEREAS, From 1980 through 1984, Mr. Dambruch proudly represented District 24 in 13 the Rhode Island House of Representatives. In addition to his service in the House, he worked 14 with the Feinstein Foundation, expanding its mentor program and funding for various school 15 programs benefiting students. He also served as President of the URI Alumni Association, and 16 was honored with the prestigious Ram Award for his dedication; and 17 WHEREAS, Mr. Dambruch was a passionate boater and a longtime member of both the 18 Newport and East Greenwich Yacht Clubs. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his 19 family, especially during vacations on Sanibel Island; and 1 WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Edward Dambruch, an honest and steadfast 2 gentleman, left Rhode Island a far better place because of his life's endeavors and he is truly 3 missed by all who were a part of his rich and fulfilling life; now, therefore be it 4 RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby 5 expresses deepest sympathies on the passing of the Honorable Edward L. Dambruch. He will long 6 be remembered by this House of Representatives and the people of Rhode Island for his 7 commitment and service to the people of this State; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 9 transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Joan Dambruch and Family. ======== LC003110 ======== LC003110 - Page 2 of 2
