Brien, Nardone, Newberry, Place, Santucci, Paplauskas, Quattrocchi, Hopkins, and Fascia Date Introduced: January 21, 2026 Referred To: House Corporations It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 39-1 of the General Laws entitled "Public Utilities Commission" is 2 hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 39-1-2.2. Long-term contracts for natural gas. 4 The public utility known as “Rhode Island Energy” shall enter into at least one long-term 5 contract, for not less than four (4) years, for the procurement of natural gas pipeline capacity with 6 an interstate pipeline operator. 7 SECTION 2.
