WHEREAS, The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), has
2
distinguished itself for more than fifty years as the voice of women in construction in Rhode
3
Island; and
4
WHEREAS, The work done by the NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter 52 has benefited
5
Rhode Island through community development and educational programs; and
6
WHEREAS, The NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter 52 has unceasingly promoted the
7
employment and advance of women in the construction industry; and
8
WHEREAS, The construction community, represented by NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter
9
52, has been a driving force in fostering community development through renovation and
10
beautification projects, promotion of skilled trades careers, and a positive vision of the future; and
11
WHEREAS, The NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter 52 has sought to achieve successful
12
results for Rhode Island and surrounding areas in a cooperative spirit with other organizations;
13
now, therefore be it
14
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby
15
celebrates the 28th Annual "Women in Construction Week" on March 1-7, 2026, and moreover
16
recognizes the NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter 52 and its many dedicated volunteers for its
17
steadfast efforts on behalf and in support of women in construction. We furthermore urge and
18
encourage the citizens of the state to congratulate the organization on its many fine
19
accomplishments; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the NAWIC Rhode Island Chapter #52.
