WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of
2
Francisco J. “El Grande” Batista. Mr. Batista was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia Batista;
3
and
4
WHEREAS, Francisco was born in the Dominican Republic, the son of the late Francisco
5
Antonio Batista Beato and Josefina Mendez. Mr. Batista was a successful Realtor with
6
International Real Estate for many years, and worked tirelessly to provide for his family and
7
loved ones. He was known for his warmth, generosity, and devotion to family and will be sorely
8
missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his
9
family and his many friends; and
10
WHEREAS, Francisco leaves behind his beloved children, including our friend and
11
colleague, the Honorable Jose F. Batista, Lessett Batista, Chantel Batista, Thalia Batista, Cisco
12
Batista, and Jose A. Perez. Mr. Batista was the loving companion of Jacqueline Perez for 37
13
years. Mr. Batista was also the brother of Reynaldo Batista, Adriana Mendez, Francisca Batista,
14
Franklin Batista, Fidel Mendez, Marino Mendez, Domenica Santa, Apolinar Mendez, and the late
15
Antonia Batista; now, therefore be it
16
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island hereby
17
expresses its deepest condolences to the Batista Family on the passing of Francisco J. Batista; and
18
be it further

1
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the family of Francisco J. Batista.
