EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF EDWARD CATONE, JR.

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Mr.
2
Edward Catone, Jr., of North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Catone for
3
65 years; and
4
WHEREAS, Edward Catone, Jr., was born in West Warwick, the son of the late Edward
5
and Josephine Catone. Edward served our nation with distinction and honor as a member of the
6
United States Air Force; and
7
WHEREAS, Mr. Catone served the City of Pawtucket with integrity and tireless service
8
as the Superintendent of Sewers & Sanitation for more than 25 years. He also served for more
9
than twenty years as the President of the Italian Independent Club in Pawtucket and also served as
10
a member of the Pawtucket Board of Canvassers; and
11
WHEREAS, Edward Catone, Jr., leaves behind his sons, Edward R. Catone, a
12
distinguished member of the Rhode Island State Senate staff, and his wife, Lisa, and Marc
13
Catone, and his wife, Carol. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren, Marc Catone and Carla
14
Catone; and
15
WHEREAS, Edward Catone, Jr., was a devoted family man and great friend to many
16
who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him; now, therefore be it
17
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest
18
condolences on the passing of Edward Catone, Jr.; and be it further
19
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed

to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Edward R. Catone and Marc Catone.
