EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF PATRICIA ALLEN

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Patricia
2
Allen; and
3
WHEREAS, Patricia Allen was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Johnie and
4
Ulersee Allen; and
5
WHEREAS, Patricia Allen was a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for
6
her family and loved ones. She worked for many years as a social worker for Landmark Medical
7
Center before retiring and later accepting a position to serve as a part-time social worker; and
8
WHEREAS, Patricia was an active member of St. James Baptist Church and the head of
9
its Flower Guild. She also served as a member of the Church’s Health Committee, Finance
10
Committee, and was also an active coordinator with the Landmark Cancer Center Survivorship
11
Committee; and
12
WHEREAS, In her free time, Patricia enjoyed exercising, travelling, and shopping, but
13
always most important in her life, was her family and loved ones and her many friends; and
14
WHEREAS, Patricia Allen is survived by her daughter, Ambrea Allen, her sister, Linda
15
Farrow, her nephew, who she raised as a son, Jamiel Allen, and numerous nieces, nephews, and
16
cousins. Patricia Allen was preceded in death by her brother Clemon Allen and Goddaughter
17
Erica Gray; now, therefore be it
18
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest
19
condolences to the Allen Family on the passing of Patricia Allen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Allen Family.
