WHEREAS, National School Choice Week 2026 will be recognized across the United
2
States of America from January 25th to January 31st; and
3
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week provides an unprecedented opportunity to
4
shine a positive spotlight on the need for effective education options for all children; and
5
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week is independently planned by a diverse and
6
growing coalition of individuals, schools, and organizations, and features thousands of unique
7
events and activities across the country; and
8
WHEREAS, Participants in National School Choice Week believe that parents should be
9
empowered to choose the best educational environments for their children; and
10
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week allows participants to offer insight for Rhode
11
Island families and organizations into the endless possibilities for achieving educational
12
excellence through school choice; and
13
WHEREAS, This year, schools and organizations across Rhode Island will partner with
14
families to raise awareness for the variety of school choice options, from traditional public
15
schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and
16
homeschooling; and
17
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week is a nonpartisan public awareness effort and
18
welcomes all Rhode Islanders to get involved and learn about the broad educational opportunities
19
for the children of our State and for the future of our State; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby recognizes January
2
25th through January 31st, 2026, as "National School Choice Week" in the State of Rhode Island;
3
and be it further
4
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
5
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Andrew Campanella, President, National
6
School Choice Week
