S3035 2026 -- S 3035 ======== LC005938 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSING-- PARKING SPACES Introduced By: Senators Famiglietti, Dimitri, and Tikoian Date Introduced: March 05, 2026 Referred To: Senate Housing & Municipal Government It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 45-53 of the General Laws entitled "Low and Moderate Income 2 Housing" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 45-53-17. North Providence low- or moderate-income housing parking spaces. 4 The town of North Providence may require two (2) parking spaces for each studio, one- 5 bedroom, or two (2) bedroom low- or moderate-income housing unit upon the municipality's 6 determination that there is limited or no local public transportation or off-street parking availability 7 within a reasonable proximity to these low- or moderate-income housing units. 8 SECTION 2.
