EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF ANNA CASALE

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Anna
2
Casale at the age of 98. Mrs. Casale was the loving wife of the late John Casale, Jr., for 68 years;
3
and
4
WHEREAS, Anna Casale was the daughter of the late Francesco and Oranato Ruggieri.
5
She attended Cranston public schools and graduated from Cranston High School. Mrs. Casale
6
was a woman of deep faith and a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church her
7
entire life; and
8
WHEREAS, Anna Casale was a devoted wife and mother and was the beloved matriarch
9
of her family. She was a woman of incredible wisdom, love, compassion, strength and resilience.
10
She dedicated her life toward raising her family of ten children and strove tirelessly to create a
11
warm, nurturing and loving home, a place where her children could put together the building
12
blocks of a successful life; and
13
WHEREAS, Mrs. Casale was the rock that held everything together for her family. Every
14
day she provided her family with unconditional love and taught then the important values of love,
15
unity and perseverance. Mrs. Casale will be sorely missed, but her legacy of love will live on
16
forever within the hearts and memories of her loved ones and countless friends; and
17
WHEREAS, Anna Casale leaves behind her children, Alan, John III, Stephen, Thomas,
18
Charles, Linda Newsham, Jeanne Garafano, Anne Caruso, and Maria Casale, as well as her 20
19
grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Anna Casale was preceded in death by her husband,
20
John Casale, Jr., her son James, his wife Dawn, her son-in-law Ronald Garafano, Sr., her brothers

Peter and Nicholas Ruggieri, and her sisters Mary Casale, Josephine Pursche, and Gilda Narcisi;
2
now, therefore be it
3
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest
4
condolences to the Casale Family on the passing of Anna Casale; and be it further
5
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
6
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Casale Family.
