WHEREAS, Family medicine physicians provide comprehensive and patient-centered
2
care to individuals and families across all ages, genders, and conditions; and
3
WHEREAS, These physicians serve as the frontline of our healthcare system, improving
4
health outcomes, reducing costs, and strengthening communities through preventive care and
5
early intervention; and
6
WHEREAS, Family medicine physicians play a critical role in addressing public health
7
challenges, including chronic disease, behavioral health needs, and health disparities; and
8
WHEREAS, Advocacy Day on April 16, 2026, brings together family medicine
9
physicians from across Rhode Island to engage with policymakers and promote policies that
10
expand access to care, support primary care, and improve the health of all Rhode Islanders; and
11
WHEREAS, The State of Rhode Island recognizes the dedication, expertise, and
12
compassionate service of family medicine physicians, as well as their commitment to advancing a
13
more equitable and effective healthcare system; now, therefore be it
14
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby honors family
15
medicine physicians on the occasion of their Advocacy Day on April 16, 2026, at the Rhode
16
Island State House and expresses its gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the health and
17
well-being of the people of Rhode Island; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
2
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Rhode Island Academy of Family
3
Physicians.
