EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MARY LOU DI PADUA

WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Mary
2
Lou Di Padua, of Coventry. She was the devoted wife of Robert A. Di Padua for nearly sixty-
3
three years and together they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering commitment;
4
and
5
WHEREAS, Born in the City of Providence to the late Raymond F. and Regina Bush,
6
Mary Lou was raised with a profound appreciation for faith, family, and community. She was the
7
beloved sister of Anna R. McDowell and Barbara J. Bush, and the late Raymond T. Bush,
8
maintaining close and meaningful family bonds throughout her life; and
9
WHEREAS, Mary Lou was the cherished mother of Robert J. Di Padua and his wife,
10
Tracy, and Jeanna Sinotte, and her late husband, Lieutenant John J. Sinotte. She was also the
11
proud and adoring “Mammy” to her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Mainelli and her fiancé,
12
Gary Murphy, David Mainelli and his wife, Katelyn Guignard, Abigail Sinotte, and Julianna
13
Sinotte, whose lives were enriched by her constant devotion, encouragement, and warmth; and
14
WHEREAS, Mary Lou attended St. Michael’s School and graduated from St. Mary’s
15
Bay View Academy in 1960, where she distinguished herself as class president, yearbook editor,
16
and an active student leader, admired for her intellect, style, and exceptional writing ability; and
17
WHEREAS, Her talents in communication and leadership carried into her professional
18
life, including her work with the George G. Metcalf Advertising Agency, and later at Greater
19
Providence Deposit and Trust, where she served with distinction as Director of Teller Training
20
and Operations; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou also played an integral role as Vice President of Lou’s World of
2
Golf, Inc., working alongside her husband for more than five decades and contributing greatly to
3
the success of their family business; and
4
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mary Lou Di Padua was a woman of deep faith, kindness,
5
and grace, whose greatest joy was her family, and whose gentle spirit, radiant smile, and enduring
6
love will be forever cherished by all who knew her; now, therefore be it
7
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby expresses its deepest
8
condolences on the passing of Mary Lou Di Padua and extends its sincere sympathy to her family
9
and loved ones; and be it further
10
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
11
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the family of Mary Lou Di Padua.
