RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE
THE YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE SKILLSUSA TEAM ON WINNING THE 2025 SKILLSUSA
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND SKILLS CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN THE FIELDS OF
NURSING ASSISTING AND CAREER PATHWAYS IET AND TO EXTEND TO THE TEAM BEST WISHES
FOR MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL ITS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

W
hereas, ready for the
challenge, the members of the York Technical College (York Tech) SkillsUSA team
competed at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in
Atlanta, Georgia, and came away with four national title winners among their
ranks. It was the third consecutive year the college had earned national
champion status, this time in the areas of nursing assisting (one gold winner)
and career pathways IET (three gold winners). These wins marked a historic
milestone in South Carolina's technical education landscape; and

W
hereas, at this year's
national competition, York Tech sent twenty-seven students to compete across
twenty-five career and technical fields. An extraordinary twenty-two of these
students placed in the Top 10 nationally, with four gold medals, four silver
medals, and three bronze medals awarded to the college's competitors; and

W
hereas, these results
place York Tech among the most successful SkillsUSA chapters in the nation and
reflect the strength of the school's workforce development programs in fields
such as engineering, health sciences, building construction, nursing, and advanced
manufacturing; and

W
hereas, bearing an
influence beyond medals and rankings, these accomplishments reflect the life-changing
impact of career and technical education. Many of York Tech's students are
first-generation college students, and several already have secured employment,
internships, or promotions as a direct result of their SkillsUSA experience.
They are hardworking, resilient, and eager to serve the growing skilled-labor
needs of South Carolina, and their stories exemplify the power of technical
education and demonstrate the pipeline of talent being developed in York
County; and

W
hereas, Allison Terry,
department chair for building construction trades and director for SkillsUSA at
York Technical College, led the college's efforts to assist team members in
reaching their highest potential at the national competition, with the outstanding
support of a team of student advisors; and

W
hereas, pleased and
proud, the South Carolina House takes great pleasure in saluting the York Tech
SkillsUSA team for its exceptional achievements at the 2025 SkillsUSA National
Leadership and Skills Conference. Now, therefore,

B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:

T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives

winning the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference
Championship title in the fields of nursing assisting and career pathways IET
and extend to the team best wishes for much continued success in all its future
endeavors.

B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Stacey Moore, president, and
