RESOLUTION
TO CELEBRATE THE
LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GOLF TEAM ON WINNING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH
SCHOOL LEAGUE CLASS AAAAA DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
W
hereas, on October 28,
2025, the members of the Lexington High School girls golf team packed up an
impressive first-place trophy, the coveted proof of their victory at the 2025
South Carolina High School League Class AAAAA Division I State Championship
tournament, held at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg; and
W
hereas, the victory
put Lexington back on top of the girls golf podium in South Carolina and gave
the team its fifteenth state title; and
W
hereas, the Wildcats
finished with a score of 336 through 18 holes of match play. Rainy conditions
shortened the competition to a single round, giving Lexington a one-stroke win
over runner-up Dorman; and
W
hereas, with that
fifteenth title in hand, Lexington continues to represent the gold standard for
girls golf teams in South Carolina. The Wildcats have ten more titles than the
next-highest team and won seven in a row from 2004 to 2010. This year, the team
fed off its motivation from last season's third-place finish and snapped a four-year
championship drought; and
W
hereas, to put the
icing on the cake, three Wildcats received All-State honors for their
performance at the championship. While Lexington didn't have the top finishers,
their depth helped deliver them a title. Lyles Herritage finished with a score
of 82, Giavanna Martusciello shot an 84, and Claire Kim also had 84; and
W
hereas, in a sport
that demands the patient exercise of polished skill, Head Coach Brandon Smith,
strongly supported by Assistant Coach Greg Alrasian, used their own athletic
abilities and training to build a championship team and teach these athletes
lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life, both on and off the
fairways and greens; and
W
hereas, the House of
Representatives takes great pleasure in saluting the Wildcats on a fine season,
and the members look forward to hearing of their further accomplishments in the
days ahead. Now, therefore,
B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:
T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, celebrate the Lexington High School girls golf team on
winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class AAAAA Division I State
Championship title.
B
e it further resolved

Head Coach Brandon Smith of Lexington High School.
