RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR theresa Tillman, UPON THE
OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AFTER more than three decades OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE
in the Federal District Court of south carolina, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED
SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives have learned that Theresa Tillman began
a well-deserved retirement after more than thirty years of distinguished and
highly regarded service in the United States District Court; and
W
hereas, born and
reared in Columbia, Ms. Tillman has maintained her deep roots in the community.
She graduated from Keenan High School in 1981 and earned a bachelor's degree in
business administration in 1985 from the University of South Carolina; and
W
hereas, happily
married for thirty-nine years, she is the proud mother of three sons and has
been blessed with the affection of two beloved grandchildren. She and her
family are active members of Gill Creek Baptist Church, where they participate
in various community activities; and
W
hereas, Ms. Tillman
began her professional career at the United States District Court on September
3, 1990, and she has devoted herself to her work there for over three decades.
Her tenure culminated on September 30, 2025; and
W
hereas, in recognition
of her excellent work and dedication to her role within the organization, she
has received two Special Services Awards for Outstanding Performance of Duties,
one awarded in 2015 and the other in 2024. These accolades highlight her exceptional
contributions and the positive impact she has made in her career; and
W
hereas, grateful for
her many years of distinguished service to the United States District Court,
the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in extending
best wishes to Theresa Tillman as she transitions to a richly deserved
retirement and the leisurely pace of the days ahead, and the members wish her
many years of enjoyment in her well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives
:

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor Theresa Tillman, upon the occasion of
her retirement after more than three decades of outstanding service in the
Federal District Court of South Carolina, and wish her continued success and
happiness in all her future endeavors.
B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Theresa Tillman.
