RESOLUTION
TO RECOGniZE AND HONOR THE WILSON HALL GIRLS TRACK
AND FIELD TEAM AND their COACHES ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE
THEM ON WINNING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION DIVISION
I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
W
hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives was pleased to learn that the Wilson Hall
girls track and field team took home the win at the 2025 South Carolina
Independent School Association (SCISA) Division I State Championship meet held May
3-5 at Ben Lippen School in Columbia; and
W
hereas, the Wilson
Hall girls were in first place on Saturday when inclement weather created
delays causing coaches to agree to delay and pick up with the second heat of
the girls 4x100 the following Monday. The Lady Barons knew they had to keep
their momentum up forty-eight hours later to finish strong, maintain that first-place
spot, and claim the state title; and
W
hereas, on Monday the
Lady Barons continued their impressive streak ending with 149 points,
outscoring second place Porter-Gaud School by nineteen points. Wilson Hall's
only individual champion was Molly Jones winning the 400-meter hurdles with a
time of 1:05.63. The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Molly Jones, Abby
Bradley, Bailey Flemming, and Ella Still, also won with a finishing time of 4:04.93,
setting a school record. The Lady Barons had six second-place finishes and scored
points in twenty-four other events, all helping to secure their first-place
overall position; and
W
hereas, in a sport
that demands mental and physical strength, Head Coach Rip Ripley and his
extraordinary staff utilized their own experiences and passion for the sport to
mold a championship-caliber team. The training and guidance they have provided
will remain invaluable, shaping the runners into well-rounded individuals whose
growth extends far beyond the track and into every aspect of their lives; and
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House value the pride and recognition that the Wilson Hall
girls track and field runners have brought to their school and their community.
They look forward to following the Lady Barons and celebrating their future
achievements. Now, therefore,
B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:
T
