RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE RIDGE VIEW HIGH SCHOOL
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM upon WINNING THE 2025 AAAAA DIVISION ONE STATE
CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO CONGRATULATE THE TEAM'S OUTSTANDING PLAYERS, COACHES,
AND STAFF FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

W
hereas,
the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the
members of the Ridge View High School boys track and field team of Richland
County captured the 2025 AAAAA Division One State Championship title at the
South Carolina High School League track and field championships held in Harry
Parone Stadium at Spring Valley High School on May 17, 2025; and

W
hereas,
to the delight of their exhilarated fans, the Ridge View Blazers defeated an
impressive, competitive field of teams. While in close competition with
Spartanburg High School throughout the meet, the Blazers were able to overcome
the Spartanburg Vikings score of 87.5 points with a total score of 91 points,
winning by 3.5 points; and

W
hereas,
a year ago the Blazers won the AAAA State Championship. This year the Ridge
View boys team moved up to the AAAAA Division One. The step up in competition
did not prevent the team and Head Coach Charles Proctor from winning their
second consecutive championship; and

W
hereas,
the Ridge View Blazers competed in almost every event, even doubling up in
several events giving them the depth and opportunity to prevail over their
competitors. The Blazers had some outstanding performances, placing in most
events and finished with two gold medals. Jordan Best won state in the
100-meter dash, finishing with a time of 10.52 seconds. Quency Grant, Khristian
Jackson, Mounir Spann, and Jordan Best won the 4x100 relay with a time of 40.88
seconds; and

W
hereas,
success at this level is the result of relentless work, demanding practices,
team effort, and sportsmanship. A testament to the teamwork and determined
efforts put forth by the staff and runners alike to continue to grow and
improve their program. In the past four years, the Ridge View boys track and
field team has won three regional championships and two state titles; and

W
hereas,
in a sport that demands strength, speed, and tireless effort, Head Coach
Charles Proctor and his skilled coaching staff utilized their own experience, passion,
and training to forge a championship-caliber team and teach these athletes life
principles that will endure beyond the track and field; and

W
hereas,
the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the pride
and recognition that the Ridge View boys track and field team have brought to
their school and community. The House is honored to recognize these outstanding
student athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the track and field.
The members look forward to following their future achievements in the days to
come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of
Representatives:

That the members of the South
Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the
Ridge View High School boys track and field team upon winning the 2025 AAAAA
Division One State Championship title and to congratulate the team's
outstanding players, coaches, and staff for an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy
of this resolution be presented to Principal and Head Coach Charles Proctor of
Ridge View High School.
