TO
HONOR AND REMEMBER THE LIFE, SERVICE, AND SACRIFICE OF ALLEN MOORE HAWKES JR.
OF AIKEN COUNTY UPON HIS PASSING, AND TO RECOGNIZE HIS HEROIC MILITARY SERVICE
TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND HIS DEVOTION TO FAITH, FAMILY, AND
COMMUNITY.

W
hereas,
the
members of the South Carolina House of Representatives learned with deep sorrow
of the passing of Allen Moore Hawkes Jr., age seventy-eight, of Aiken County,
who entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by his
loving family
; and

W
hereas,
born
in Newport News, Virginia, Mr. Hawkes was the son of the late Allen Moore
Hawkes Sr. and Isabell Cecil Hawkes, and throughout his life exemplified
integrity, humility, and unwavering devotion to God, country, and family
;
and

W
hereas,
Mr.
Hawkes proudly served his nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam
War, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and distinguished himself through
extraordinary courage and valor in combat
; and

W
hereas,
in
recognition of his heroic actions in battle, Sergeant Hawkes was awarded two
Bronze Stars for Heroism, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, and numerous
additional medals and commendations-honors reserved for those who place duty
and the lives of others above their own; and

W
hereas,
following
his combat service in Vietnam, Sergeant Hawkes continued his commitment to the
United States Army as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson, where he helped train
and shape the next generation of American soldiers, instilling discipline,
resilience, and respect for service; and

W
hereas,
after
returning to civilian life, Mr. Hawkes built a successful professional career
as a computer programmer and later as a bank manager, demonstrating the same
dedication and excellence that marked his military service; and

W
hereas,
a
man of deep Christian faith, Mr. Hawkes was a devoted member and deacon of
Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken and previously served faithfully at
Troutville Baptist Church in Virginia, where he mentored young men through the
Royal Ambassadors program, teaching children about Jesus and leading by
example; and

W
hereas,
Mr.
Hawkes was a loving husband to his wife of fifty-five years, Jackie Bridgmon
Hawkes, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a man who cherished time
with his family, especially vacations to Myrtle Beach and time spent on the
golf course; and

W
hereas,
his
life leaves an enduring legacy of bravery, faith, service, and love, and his
example will continue to inspire his family, friends, fellow veterans, and all
who were privileged to know him.
Now, therefore,

House of Representatives
:

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution,
honor and remember the life, service, and sacrifice of
Allen Moore Hawkes Jr. of Aiken County upon his passing, and to recognize his
heroic military service to the United States of America and his devotion to
faith, family, and community.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allen Moore Hawkes
Jr.
