RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF Robert W. Davis OF Fairfield
COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY
FRIENDS.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death
of Robert W. Davis at the age of seventy-seven on July 17, 2025, surrounded by his
devoted family; and
W
hereas, born in Fairfield
County on February 6, 1948, Mr. Davis was deeply committed to his family, his community,
and his faith; and
W
hereas, a graduate of
Fairfield High School, he held the position of vice president of the alumni association
and remained engaged in and committed to preserving the history and progress of
the school he loved; and
W
hereas, Mr. Davis
served honorably in the United States Army and continued his service to others
through a life dedicated to leadership and community improvement; and
W
hereas, a faithful
member of his church, Greater St. John African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church,
he previously served the congregation as a steward, offering both spiritual and
practical guidance; and
W
hereas, Mr. Davis
served as a Fairfield County Council member for eighteen years, leaving a
legacy of advocacy, growth, and integrity; and
W
hereas, professionally,
he served as a telecommunications expert until his retirement, and he also
found success in the world of real estate with a passion for helping others
find their place in the world; and
W
hereas, Mr. Davis was
a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished father-in-law,
affectionately referring to his daughters-in-law as "his girls"; and
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and
legacy of Robert Davis and for the example of love, service, and strength he
set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,

e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Robert W.
Davis of Fairfield County and extend their deepest sympathy to his loving
family and his many friends.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert W. Davis.
