RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MATHIEU
CURTIS OF TEGA CAY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN BASEBALL, TO
CONGRATULATE HIM ON BEING SELECTED IN THE 2025 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL DRAFT, AND
TO commend the foundations of excellence he built at Fort Mill High School and in
COLLEGE.

W
hereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great
pride in the accomplishments of Mathieu Curtis of Tega Cay, a distinguished
graduate of Fort Mill High School's Class of 2022; and

W
hereas, Mathieu was a top pitcher for the Fort Mill High School
baseball program, where he laid the foundation for his increasing athletic success,
first at the collegiate level and now at the professional level; and

W
hereas, after continuing his development as a baseball player at the
University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg and then at Virginia Tech
in Blacksburg, Virginia, Mathieu Curtis was selected in the fourteenth round of
the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft by the Atlanta Braves, a remarkable
milestone that reflects his skill, dedication, and perseverance; and

W
hereas, his success stands as a testament to years of hard work, as
well as to the steadfast support of his coaches, teammates, and family, and
serves as an inspiration to young athletes across the Fort Mill community; and

W
hereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is delighted to
extend congratulations to Mathieu Curtis as he begins his professional baseball
career, and the members look forward to following his continued success with
much interest and anticipation. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the South Carolina
House
of Representatives
, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mathieu
Curtis of Tega Cay for his outstanding achievements in baseball, congratulate
him on being selected in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, and commend the
foundations of excellence he built at Fort Mill High School and in college.

e it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
Mathieu Curtis.
