RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE SENIOR DAYA ROSS OF WREN HIGH SCHOOL
IN ANDERSON COUNTY ON CAPTURING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE
CLASS AAAA INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY AND TO WISH HER
MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS IN HER UPCOMING COLLEGIATE CAREER as a CROSS COUNTRY athlete.

W
hereas, the House of
Representatives is pleased to learn that on November 15, 2025, Wren High School
senior Daya Ross won the South Carolina High School League Individual State
Championship in Class AAAA girls cross country; and

W
hereas, dominating the
course in Aiken, Daya Ross captured the state championship by more than 31
seconds with an incredible time of 18:03.64 and so led Wren to a fourth-place
finish overall. For her outstanding performance this season, Daya was named
Region Runner of the Year and was tapped for All-State; and

W
hereas, having
committed to Catawba College in 2025, Daya Ross will continue her running
career at that respected institution. After an illustrious high school career,
she's looking forward to making the jump to the NCAA (Division 2); and

W
hereas, Daya gives
full credit to Coach Mark Wilson at Wren High for the excellent training she
has received, to her family for their strong support, and to God for enabling
her to run calmly and for his glory; and

W
hereas, the House
takes great pride in saluting Daya Ross on taking home the girls individual
cross country state title and for the exceptional sports record she has
compiled thus far. The members look with interest to hearing of the future
successes of this talented athlete. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, congratulate senior Daya Ross of Wren High School in
Anderson County on capturing the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class
AAAA Individual State Championship in girls cross country and wish her much
continued success in her upcoming collegiate career as a cross country athlete.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to Daya Ross.
