A concurrent RESOLUTION

TO APPLAUD THE
POWDERSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2025 CLASS AAA
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO CONGRATULATE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR COACH ON
AN OUTSTANDING SEASON.

W
hereas, on Saturday,
November 8, 2025, the Lady Patriots of Powdersville High School triumphed over
Oceanside Collegiate Academy to win the 2025 Class AAA volleyball championship,
held at Dreher High School in Columbia; and

W
hereas, determined to
take home the hardware, the Lady Patriots (22-8) accordingly would not quit
until they had seized Powdersville High's fifth state title in girls
volleyball; and

W
hereas, when the score
was 14-10 in the fifth set, Powdersville volleyball needed one chance, one
point, or one careless mistake from the hands of Oceanside Collegiate Academy.
Senior outside hitter Peyton Carman went after a kill that would make the
difference for her team - and got it. She struck the ball into the deep corner,
and that was all the Lady Patriots needed to defeat the Lady Landsharks in five
sets, making Powdersville back-to-back state champions; and

W
hereas, Coach Brooke
Passini, rightly proud of her team, tested her players this season, took them
to the title match ready to play, and found that the discipline she had
instilled into her team paid off on the court. Coach Passini's philosophy is
simple: "Even if we're battling from behind, we never give up," she declares.
"That's something we always work on in practice"; and

W
hereas, appreciative
of the well-deserved recognition these athletes have won for their school and
community, the General Assembly congratulates the Lady Patriots, and the
members look with interest toward hearing of their further successes, both on
and off the volleyball court. Now, therefore,

B
e it resolved by the House
of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

T
hat the members of the
South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, applaud the Powdersville
High School girls volleyball team on capturing the 2025 Class AAA State
Championship title and congratulate these athletes and their coach on an
outstanding season.

B
e it further resolved that
a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Seth Young, superintendent of
Anderson School District One, as well as to Dr. Adam Lanford, principal, and
Coach Brooke Passini of Powdersville High School.
