RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE POWDERSVILLE
HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM ON AN IMPRESSIVE SEASON AND TO CELEBRATE THE
PATRIOTS' CAPTURE OF THE 2024-2025 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

W
hereas, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, a
determined Powdersville High School boys soccer team clinched the 2024-2025
Class AAA State Championship title with a 1-0 victory, pushing past Oceanside
Collegiate Academy to make school history after junior Ethan Piel scored the
match's one and only goal; and

W
hereas, when the team raised the state championship trophy, it was
the first time ever in soccer for Powdersville, as well as the team's first
appearance at the state finals, and it was sweet. Prior to this triumph, the
Patriots had made it to Upper State three times, only to come up just short
each of those times; and

W
hereas, Powdersville's Coach Jeremy McCall led his athletes to the
top of the mountain at the championship competition and found the view worth
the climb. Under Coach McCall, the Patriots set their goal to go 1-0 in each
post-season playoff match until fulfilling that goal with the 1-0 state win. It
all added up to a finish of 23-3 overall for the season, a great run; and

W
hereas, the icing on the cake: Brody Pike was named both an All-State
and All-Region Player of the Year for the second consecutive year; Didier
Pineda and Jud Scrivner also were tapped for All-State; and Cooper McCall,
Didier Pineda, Jed Turner, and Jud Scrivner took away All-Region honors; and

W
hereas, proud of these fine student athletes, the South Carolina
House of Representatives appreciates the recognition the Powdersville High boys
soccer players have brought to their school and community, and the members look
to hear of many more victories for the school in coming seasons. Go, Patriots! Now,
therefore,

B
e it resolved by the
House of
Representatives
:

T
hat the members of the South Carolina
House
of Representatives
, by this resolution, congratulate the Powdersville
High School boys soccer team on an impressive season and celebrate the
Patriots' capture of the 2024-2025 Class AAA State Championship title.

B
e it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
Dr. Adam Lanford, principal, and Coach Jeremy McCall of Powdersville High
School.
