RESOLUTION
TO APPLAUD THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS VOLLEYBALL
TEAM ON NETTING THE 2025 CLASS AAAAA DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO
SALUTE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR COACHES ON A FABULOUS UNDEFEATED SEASON.
W
hereas, if there is
such a thing as a dynasty in the early years of boys volleyball in South
Carolina sports, Dorman has become one. With a 3-0 sweep of Carolina Forest on
Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Columbia's A.C. Flora High School, the Dorman
High School Cavaliers won their fourth straight state championship, third
straight state title sanctioned by the South Carolina High School League, and
second straight Class AAAAA Division I crown; and
W
hereas, the win for
Dorman (31-0) was also the seventy-third straight victory of a streak dating
back to September 16, 2023; and
W
hereas, Head Coach
Andrew Copeland of Dorman declared that while the match went down in the books
as a 3-0 win, he recognized a lot of fight and talent on the Carolina Forest
side of the court; and
W
hereas, ranked Number
1 in the State and Number 1 in the nation on
MaxPreps
, Dorman will
graduate nine seniors. Most programs would consider Dorman's next season a
rebuilding year, but Coach Copeland, who openly remembers when he and his
players "were literally celebrating getting three hits and getting it over the
net" and compares that time to the present situation, is not worried; and
W
hereas, rather, he is
thankful for the depth his team has across the board at every position and
avers that some players on the Cavaliers' bench would be starters if they were
at another school. Dorman's depth, he feels, is what keeps the Cavaliers competitive
and what sustains their play at a high level; his players know the team has
people right behind them who can compete; and
W
hereas, throughout the
season, the team challenged itself by becoming battle-tested, including
competing in its first-ever out-of-state tournament in Virginia Beach. There,
Dorman faced some of the top talent in the Southeast region, including teams
ranked in the national Top 25. The Cavaliers went on to win the Endless Summer
Volleyball Tournament and by the end of the season had securely nailed their
Number 1 state and national standing; and
W
hereas, appreciative
of the well-deserved recognition these athletes have brought to their school
and community, the House of Representatives congratulates the Cavaliers, and
the members look with interest toward hearing of their further successes both
on, and off, the volleyball court. Go, Cavaliers! Now, therefore,
B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:
T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,

netting the 2025 Class AAAAA Division I State Championship title and salute
these athletes and their coaches on a fabulous undefeated season.
B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Bryant Roberson and
Coach Andrew Copeland of Dorman High School.
