TO RECOGNIZE AND
HONOR THE LIFE, SERVICE, AND LASTING CONTRIBUTIONS OF KENNETH "KC" CHAPMAN, A
PIONEER IN DIGITAL ASSETS, A COMMUNITY BUILDER, AND A CHAMPION OF SOUTH
CAROLINA'S EMERGING TECHNOLOGY ECOSYSTEM.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives are deeply saddened by the passing
of Kenneth "KC" Chapman, a respected leader, mentor, and advocate within South
Carolina's technology and digital asset communities; and
W
hereas, Ken Chapman
was a co-founder and guiding force behind CryptoMondays Charleston, where he
helped establish one of the state's most dynamic forums for collaboration among
innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and technologists working
at the intersection of blockchain, digital assets, fintech, and emerging
technologies; and
W
hereas, through
leadership and unwavering commitment, he cultivated an inclusive, nonpartisan
community grounded in education, curiosity, and constructive dialogue,
effectively bridging traditional finance, technology startups, academia, and
public officials in ways that strengthened South Carolina's innovation
ecosystem; and
W
hereas, Ken Chapman
served as a member of the South Carolina Emerging Technology Advisory Board, contributing
his expertise, insight, and principled advocacy to help inform the state's
approach to emerging technologies and their impact on economic development,
workforce readiness, and long-term competitiveness; and
W
hereas, his professional
work and community leadership made a meaningful impact within House District
99, where he actively supported the growth of the region's innovation and
technology ecosystem and advanced efforts to position the Lowcountry as a
leader in emerging technologies; and
W
hereas, he was widely
respected for his ability to translate complex technical concepts into
practical, real-world applications, enabling policymakers, business leaders,
and community members to better understand both the opportunities and challenges
presented by blockchain, digital assets, and decentralized technologies; and
W
hereas, beyond his
professional accomplishments, Ken Chapman was known as a generous mentor,
trusted advisor, and loyal friend, whose integrity, enthusiasm, and optimism
left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him; and

hereas, his legacy continues
through the communities he helped build, the conversations he elevated, and the
many individuals he inspired to engage thoughtfully and responsibly in shaping
South Carolina's digital future. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor the life, service, and lasting
contributions of Kenneth "KC" Chapman, a pioneer in digital assets, a community
builder, and a champion of South Carolina's emerging technology ecosystem.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth "KC"
Chapman.
