RESOLUTION

to congratulate the Catawba Ridge High School
softball team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and to
honor them for winning the south carolina class AAAAA Division II Championship
title.

W
hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to recognize the Catawba Ridge High
School softball team for capturing the South Carolina Class AAAAA Division II State
Championship on May 29, 2025; and

W
hereas, under the outstanding
leadership of Head Coach Michael Mayak and his dedicated coaching staff, the Copperheads
compiled an exceptional 31-2 overall record, consistently demonstrating
discipline, determination, and a steadfast commitment to excellence throughout
the season; and

W
hereas, to the excitement
and pride of their loyal supporters, the Catawba Ridge Copperheads defeated a
highly talented St. James Sharks team by a score of 9-1 in the championship game,
a decisive victory that reflected the team's perseverance, teamwork, and
exemplary sportsmanship; and

W
hereas, the
Copperheads earned a ranking of number one in the State of South Carolina and number
twenty nationally by
Sports Illustrated
while securing their third consecutive
state championship, and over the past three seasons, have amassed an
extraordinary 76-7 record, produced eighteen All-Region selections, eight All-State
honorees, and two South Carolina Players of the Year; and

W
hereas, during that
same period, seven student athletes have advanced to play Division I or
Division II collegiate softball, with two additional players set to compete at
the Division I level following graduation this year; and

W
hereas, the championship
roster includes players Peyton Batot, Camryn Bird, Charli Burney, Gabbey Cook,
Jaidyn Harris, Aloni Hogans, Mia Kovacs, Kendra Murray, Keira O'Brien, Via
Petri, Kyrsten Reynolds, Sarah Rocheleau, Taylan Sistare, Hannah Smith, and Brynlee
Grace Yates, whose accomplishments were achieved under the leadership of Head
Coach Michael Mayak, along with coaches Kyle Harris, and Josh Yates; and

W
hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives takes great pride in honoring these
exceptional student athletes, who have brought distinction to their school,
community, and state through their remarkable achievements, and the members
look forward with confidence to the team's continued success in the years to
come. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives:

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, congratulate the Catawba Ridge High School Softball team,
coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and honor them for winning
the South Carolina Class AAAAA Division II championship title.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Barry Ledford and Head
Coach Michael Mayak.
