RESOLUTION

TO HONOR THE WILLIAMSBURG ACADEMY FOOTBALL TEAM AND
COACHES ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
ASSOCIATION CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

W
hereas, not to be
denied the crown, the Williamsburg Academy football team drove past the
Colleton War Hawks 34-14 to capture decisively the 2025 South Carolina
Independent School Association (SCISA) Class 1A State Championship, held on
Saturday, November 22, 2025, at South Carolina State's Oliver C. Dawson
Stadium; and

W
hereas, the Stallions,
who had played in four consecutive state title games and won only in 2022, came
away this time having accomplished their mission to take back the crown - and
they did it with style, using an opportunistic defense to nail the victory; and

W
hereas, such triumphs
do not come overnight; they take determination and hard work. With proven
consistency in both, Williamsburg's Head Coach Will Furse, ably assisted by a
fine coaching staff, built his football program into a championship team that
refused to settle for second best, and he saw his first season as head coach finish
at the top of the mountain; and

W
hereas, for the
players, their coaches, and exhilarated Stallion fans, it was a fully
satisfying wrap-up to an outstanding 11-1 season; and

W
hereas, the
Williamsburg Stallions have given their school and community reason to be proud
of their accomplishments, and the members of the House of Representatives take
great pleasure in adding their collective voice to the many encomiums flowing
in to this outstanding group of young athletes. Go, Stallions! Now, therefore,

B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:

T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, honor the Williamsburg Academy football team and coaches on
their impressive win of the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association
Class 1A State Championship.

B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Headmaster Glenn Matthews and Head
Coach Will Furse of Williamsburg Academy.
