RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor Jeffery L. Ham, Executive
Director of the Santee-Wateree Community mental health Center, on the occasion
of his retirement; to express deep appreciation for his more than twenty-eight
years of distinguished Public service to the State of South Carolina; and to
extend best wishes for a fulfilling and rewarding retirement.
W
hereas, the Santee-Wateree
Community Mental Health Center has benefited from the dedication, experience,
and leadership of Executive Director Jeffery L. Ham, since 2017, and he will
soon retire following more than twenty-eight years of outstanding service; and
W
hereas, Mr. Ham began
his career as a direct care staff member at the South Carolina State Hospital,
where he worked closely with patients and assisted in training staff to manage
challenging behaviors, helping to advance the transition toward more
community-based mental health care; and
W
hereas, throughout his
career, Mr. Ham has remained a steadfast advocate for individuals living with
mental illness and for improving the quality of mental health services across
the State. Through his leadership, partnerships have been strengthened and
services expanded throughout Sumter, Kershaw, Lee, and Clarendon counties; and
W
hereas, through
collaboration with numerous state agencies and community partners, he has
worked diligently to improve access to mental health services, reduce the
stigma associated with mental illness, and promote compassionate, professional
care for those in need; and
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the legacy of dedication
and excellence that Jeffery L. Ham has given to the people of South Carolina
and take great pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement, trusting
that he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now,
therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor Jeffery L. Ham, executive director of
the Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center, on the occasion of his
retirement; express deep appreciation for his more than twenty-eight years of distinguished
public service to the State of South Carolina; and extend best wishes for a fulfilling
and rewarding retirement.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jeffery L. Ham.
