RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND
HONOR STEPHANIE SHEALY CAMERON, RICHLAND COUNTY COURT ADMINISTRATOR, UPON THE
OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO
RICHLAND COUNTY, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER
FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives have learned that Stephanie Shealy
Cameron will begin a well-deserved retirement after three decades of service to
Richland County, the last four years of which have been as a distinguished and
highly regarded administrator of the Richland County Court; and
W
hereas, the daughter
of Edward Shealy and the late Donna Shealy of Lexington, Shephanie Cameron graduated
from Lexington High School; and
W
hereas, together with
her beloved husband of more than thirty years, retired Lexington County Fire
Captain Robert Cameron, she reared a fine daughter, Abigail Cameron; and
W
hereas, Mrs. Cameron
began her career with Richland County in 1995 as a 911 dispatcher for the
Richland County Sheriff's Department, and in 1997, she transferred to the
Forest Acres Police Department 911 dispatch; and
W
hereas, in 1998, she
became a summary court law clerk with the Waverly Magistrate's office. During
her time with the Waverly Magistrate's office, she became a part-time municipal
judge for the Town of Pelion, where she remained a judge for eight years. She
also became tactical officer for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division
(SLED) for the entire system of Richland County magistrates; and
W
hereas, after serving
at this office for eleven years, she moved to the Richland County Central Court
where she implemented the creation of the Set Off Debt Division for the
Richland County Magistrate Courts system. Mrs. Cameron became the supervisor of
the Set Off Debt Division before taking over the position of the manager of the
Richland County Bond Court; and
W
hereas, in 2015, Mrs.
Cameron became the office manager for the Dentsville Magistrate's office.
During this time, she obtained her court reporting certification, along with
other business, court, and legal certifications; and
W
hereas, in 2022, she
became the Richland County Court administrator. During her tenure as court
administrator, she has trained several new magistrate office managers and
clerks. Mrs. Cameron retires from Richland County with over thirty years of
service to the citizens of Richland County and South Carolina; and
W
hereas, grateful for
her many years of distinguished service to the Richland County Court, the South
Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in extending best wishes
to Stephanie Cameron as she transitions to a richly deserved retirement and the
leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor Stephanie Shealy Cameron, Richland
County Court administrator, upon the occasion of her retirement after thirty
years of outstanding service to Richland County, and wish her continued success
and happiness in all her future endeavors.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to Stephanie Shealy Cameron.
