RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND
PALMETTOPRIDE, THE VOLUNTEERS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS PARTICIPATING IN
OPERATION SUMTER SWEEP FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EFFORTS TO REDUCE LITTER, BEAUTIFY
SUMTER COUNTY, AND PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP IN SOUTH CAROLINA, and to
extend sincere appreciation for their efforts to protect and preserve the
natural beauty of the State of South CAROLINA.
W
hereas, litter and illegal dumping negatively impact South
Carolina's natural beauty, public health, and local economies, diminishing the
quality of life for residents and visitors alike; and
W
hereas, PalmettoPride has long worked in partnership with
communities across South Carolina to promote litter prevention, education, and
environmental stewardship through statewide initiatives such as South Carolina
Sweep; and
W
hereas, Operation Sumter Sweep is a coordinated community cleanup
initiative designed to mobilize volunteers, local leaders, students, civic
organizations, businesses, and residents to remove litter and debris from
roadways, neighborhoods, and public spaces throughout Sumter County; and
W
hereas, this initiative demonstrates the power of community
engagement and civic pride by bringing together citizens of all ages who are
committed to protecting the beauty and environmental health of their community
while supporting the broader goals of the statewide South Carolina Sweep
campaign; and
W
hereas, the volunteers and community partners participating in
Operation Sumter Sweep dedicate their time, energy, and resources to improving
the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, helping to preserve South
Carolina's natural resources for future generations; and
W
hereas, their efforts not only result in cleaner roadways and public
spaces but also raise awareness about the importance of responsible waste
disposal, environmental stewardship, and community pride; and
W
hereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives
believe it is fitting and proper to recognize organizations and volunteers who
work diligently to keep our communities clean, healthy, and beautiful. Now, therefore,
