RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE
AND HONOR THE PEE DEE ACADEMY SOFTBALL TEAM AND COACHES ON AN OUTSTANDING
SEASON, AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

W
hereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives
were pleased to hear that the Pee Dee Academy softball team won its fourth
consecutive South Carolina Independent School Association Championship on
Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Clarendon Hall field in Summerton; and

W
hereas, to the delight of their exuberant fans, the Pee Dee Academy Lady
Golden Eagles defeated Clarendon Hall 12-3, completing a sweep of the best-of-three
3A series, finishing the season with a 26-1 record, and continuing to defend
their title for another year; and

W
hereas, in game one, Pee Dee Academy scored two runs in the bottom of
the sixth to force extra innings and won it in the eighth in a 4-3
come-from-behind win; and

W
hereas, the championship winning game on Wednesday was attributed to
the amazing teamwork of the Lady Eagles. Addison Hasty led the team, going
3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI (Runs Batted In).
Azeleigh Arnette and Claire Eskridge both had two hits, including a home run.
Arnette had two runs and two RBI and Eskridge had two RBI and a run. Maddie
Coward had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Katie Estes had two hits,
two runs, and the game-winning RBI, and Carly Carroll had two hits, two runs,
and an RBI. Coward also went the distance on the mound, scattering six hits
while striking out five and walking none; and

W
hereas, in a sport that demands agility and precision, Head Coach
Will Eskridge and his talented coaching staff utilized their own experience and
passion for the sport to mold a championship-caliber team. The lessons that
they have taught these young athletes will continue to shape them on and off
the field; and

W
hereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives
value the pride and recognition that the Pee Dee softball team has brought to
their school and community. They look forward to hearing of the teams continued
achievements in the days to come. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the South Carolina
House
of Representatives
, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Pee Dee Academy
softball team and coaches on an outstanding season, and congratulate them on
winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association 3A State
Championship.

e it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
Pee Dee Academy Head of School Allyson Carmichael and Head Coach Will Eskridge.
