RESOLUTION
To recognize and celebrate the grand opening of The
Chesnee Faith Home Resale store on March 26, 2026.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to hear that on March
26, 2026, Faith Home Christian Recovery will be hosting the grand opening of
their new Chesnee Resale Store.
W
hereas, Faith Home
Christian Recovery is a Christian rehabilitation, home, and recovery program
for both men and women who are struggling alcoholics and drug addicts. Faith
Home was established in 1966 by Danny W. Barnes, Aline "Mama" Barnes, and Rex
McCravy; and
W
hereas, Faith Home provides
a no-cost, 8-week residential, and Christ-centered 12-step recovery program to
those seeking freedom from alcoholism and drug addiction. The recovery program
is based on the fundamental belief that the solution to an individual's
problems as the result of alcohol and drug addiction can be found through faith
in God and the application of a program of recovery. Their mission is simple, a
disciplined approach to helping residents achieve a balanced life of recovery,
centered in the word of God, through healthy living, responsible work, and
serving others. They live by the scripture Luke 1:37, "For with God nothing
will be impossible"; and
W
hereas, Faith Home
Christian Recovery is proud to operate six resale stores throughout Greenwood,
Abbeville, and Spartanburg counties. They offer a wide selection of gently used
clothing, furniture, household items, toys, and more, all donated by the
generous communities they serve. Revenue generated from the sale of donations
through the Faith Home Resale stores supports every Faith Home program. By
shopping at or donating to these stores, people are directly supporting the
daily operations of the residential recovery facilities, keeping the eight-week
program free to all who need it; and
W
hereas, each sale
helps to provide food, housing, counseling, and spiritual guidance for those
who are ready to break free from addiction and reclaim their futures. Each
Faith Home Resale Store provides the community with a meaningful way to give
back, while playing a key role in transforming lives; and
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives value the work that the Faith Home
Christian Recovery Stores do to not only help provide people with the free
8-week recovery program, but also their work to better the communities around
them. Now, therefore,
B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:
T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and celebrate the grand opening of the Chesnee
Faith Home Resale Store on March 26, 2026.
B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Faith Home Christian Recovery.
