RESOLUTION

TO CELEBRATE THE GREENWOOD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BOYS
BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE 2026 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
ASSOCIATION 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO CONGRATULATE THE PLAYERS AND
COACHES ON THEIR FIRST STATE CROWN.

W
hereas, ready for the
challenge, the Greenwood Christian School boys basketball team put away
Spartanburg Christian 56-52 to capture top honors at the 2026 South Carolina
Independent School Association 3A State Championship, held on Saturday,
February 28, 2026; and

W
hereas, such victories
do not come overnight; they take determination and hard work. With proven
consistency in both, Head Coach Jonathan Davis built his boys basketball
program into championship caliber and trained his athletes not to settle for
second best; and

W
hereas, junior Isaiah
Scott-Palacios led all scorers with 24 points, while senior standout Ty Kennedy
added 19. Bryson Dixon was also in double figures with 11 points, and senior
Leland Reed had the other two. Moreover, Kennedy, Scott-Palacios, and Reed were
named to the All-Tournament team; and

hereas, the House
takes great pleasure in saluting the fine athletes of the Greenwood Christian
School boys basketball team, and the members have confidence that the Hawks
will continue to excel in the years ahead. Now, therefore,

e it resolved by the
House of Representatives

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, celebrate the Greenwood Christian School boys basketball
team on winning the 2026 South Carolina Independent School Association 3A State
Championship title and congratulate the players and coaches on their first
state crown.

B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Chris Johns, head of school,
and Head Coach Jonathan Davis of Greenwood Christian School.
