COUNTY FOR HIS EXTRAORDINARY FIFTY-FIVE YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS A
FIREFIGHTER AND TO CELEBRATE HIS ENDURING LEGACY IN HIS COMMUNITY AND THE
PALMETTO STATE.
W
hereas, the House of
Representatives find it is altogether fitting and proper to pause in its
deliberations to recognize and honor the brave men and women who serve as first
responders, willingly placing themselves in harm's way to protect life and
property and to make our communities safer for all. Randy Cartee of Pickens

devoted an exceptional fifty-five years as a volunteer firefighter; and
W

age of seventeen, Randy Cartee has faithfully answered every call with courage,
humility, and steadfast resolve, demonstrating an unwavering sense of duty from
his first alarm to the present day, consistently attending trainings, drills,
and meetings, and responding to countless emergencies, often at great personal
sacrifice, to ensure the safety of others; and
W
hereas, in the face of
danger and uncertainty, he has stood shoulder to shoulder with his fellow
firefighters, meeting the challenges of the profession with strength,
resilience, and an unshakable spirit, earning the deep respect and admiration
of all who have served alongside him. Beyond his service on the front lines, he
has been a trusted mentor and a steady leader, generously sharing his knowledge
and wisdom to train, encourage, and inspire generations of firefighters,
leaving an indelible mark on those who have followed in his footsteps while
serving the citizens of Pickens County; and
W
hereas, whether at the
station, in training, or responding to emergencies, Randy Cartee has been a
constant and reassuring presence, known for his dependability, leadership,
kindness, generosity, and the camaraderie he fostered among his crew, qualities
that have created lasting bonds and memories, and for him, the role of
firefighter has never been merely a duty, but a true calling defined by a
lifetime of selfless service, quiet sacrifice, and enduring commitment to
protecting his community; and
W
hereas, as he reaches
this significant milestone with his official anniversary observed September
7th, it is fitting that the members of the South Carolina House of
Representatives express their profound gratitude for his many years of faithful
service and honor the countless lives he has touched and inspired throughout
his remarkable career. Now, therefore,
