RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND
HONOR THE DORCHESTER ACADEMY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL
OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE
SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to hear that the
Dorchester Academy girls basketball team won the South Carolina Independent
School Association (SCISA) 2A Championship game held on February 28, 2026, at
the Sumter Civic Center; and

W
hereas, the Dorchester
Academy Raiders defeated the Cross School Stingrays 39-37 in an intense game
that went into overtime. The Raiders fought hard through a four-minute overtime
to secure the championship title, ending their season with an impressive 26-4
record; and

W
hereas, there were
many standout performances from the Raiders. Emery McClure, a sophomore, led
the Raiders in scoring, ended the game with 13 points and was named the Region
2A Player of the Year. She was selected along with her teammates, juniors Rylee
Weathers, who also scored 13 points, and Palmer Kizer, who scored 7 points, to
the SCISA 2A All-Girls Tournament team; and

W
hereas, in a sport
that requires agility and strength, Head Coach Callie McClure and her talented
coaching staff utilized their own experience and passion for the sport to mold
a championship-caliber team. Coach McClure, a former Dorchester Academy player,
has worked hard to build this program into a force to be reckoned with. The
lessons that she and her staff have taught these young athletes will continue
to shape them on and off the court; and

W
hereas, the Dorchester
Academy girls basketball team has brought immense pride and recognition to
their school and community. The members of the South Carolina House of
Representatives are honored to recognize these outstanding student athletes for
their achievements both on the court and in the classroom. They look forward to
hearing of the team's future accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor the Dorchester Academy girls basketball
team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate
them on winning the South Carolina Independent School Association Class 2A
State Championship title.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dorchester Academy Head of
School Heather Judy and Head Coach Callie McClure.
