TO RECOGNIZE AND
HONOR THE FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL
OFFICIALS FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2025
SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA DIVISION 2 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

W
hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Fort
Mill girls cross country team of York County captured another state title at
the state meet held on Saturday, November 15, 2025; and

W
hereas, to the thrill
of their faithful fans, the Fort Mill Lady Yellow Jackets defeated a fine field
of rivals with a commanding score of 38 points, outpacing the team's nearest
rival, second-placed Greenville, by 36 points; and

W
hereas, the Fort Mill
High School cross country program cemented its status as a distance powerhouse,
with the girls team capturing their third consecutive title showcasing the deep
talent and consistent excellence within the program; and

W
hereas, the triple
crown Fort Mill team relied on powerful pack running: their top five scorers
finished within the top sixteen overall. Senior Marlee Cook led the charge,
finishing second overall with an impressive time of 19:07.78. Freshman Lauren
Allen followed closely in fourth place at 19:13.16, and Senior Alivia Cleveland
rounded out the early finishers, coming in sixth with a time of 19:17.10; and

W
hereas, in a sport
that demands strength, mental endurance, and speed, Head Coach Lee Whitaker,
named the 2025 Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year by the South Carolina
Track and Cross Country Coaches Association, and his dedicated coaching staff
capitalized on their own athletic experience and passion to hone yet another
championship team and teach these athletes life principles that will endure
beyond the track; and

hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives values the pride and recognition that the Fort
Mill girls cross country runners have brought to their school and their
community, and the members look forward to hearing of their continued
accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and honor the Fort Mill High School girls cross
country team, coaches, and school officials for a remarkable season and
congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina Class AAAAA Division 2
State Championship title.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Zachary Beam and Coach
Lee Whitaker.
