TO HONOR AND
RECOGNIZE THE MILITARY MAGNET ACADEMY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM, COACHES, AND
SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING
THE 2026 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to hear that the
Military Magnet Academy girls basketball team took home the highest honor at
the 2026 Class A State Championship game held on Saturday, March 7, at Colonial
Life Arena; and
W
hereas, this
championship game showcased the hard work and determination that this team has
put in all year. These young athletes, including two seventh graders, two eighth
graders, and four freshmen, defied all of the odds stacked against them. The Military
Magnet Academy Eagles dominated their competition, Great Falls High School,
from the beginning of the game. The Eagles forced thirty-one turnovers and
twenty-three steals. The team also had nine three-pointers and shot forty-five
percent from the floor. The Eagles ended the game 70-21, finishing the season
with an impressive 26-4 record and winning back-to-back championship titles;
and

hereas, Military
Magnet Academy had many standout performances at the championship game, including
Mariah Brown, who scored twenty-five points, including five three-pointers and
seven rebounds, Da'Nariyah Williams, who scored ten points and grabbed eight
boards, and Kaleah Brown-King, who scored eleven points and seven rebounds; and
W
hereas, this win marks
the Military Magnet Academy girls basketball team's fifth championship win in
the last six years; and
W
hereas, Head Coach
Nathaniel Taylor and his talented coaching staff utilized their own experience
and passion for the sport to craft a championship-caliber team. The lessons
that they have taught these young athletes will continue to impact them on and
off the court; and
W
hereas, the Military
Magnet Academy girls basketball team has brought immense pride and recognition
to their school and community. The members of the South Carolina House of
Representatives are honored to recognize these outstanding student athletes for
their achievements both on the court and in the classroom. They look forward to
hearing of the team's future accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives

by this resolution, honor and recognize the Military Magnet Academy girls
basketball team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and
congratulate them on winning the 2026 South Carolina Class A State Championship
title.

e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to Military Magnet Academy Principal
Dr. Robert L. Perrineau Jr. and Head Coach Nathaniel Taylor.
