A concurrent RESOLUTION

TO INVITE THE UNIVERSITY
OF SOUTH CAROLINA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS TO JOIN THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN JOINT SESSION AT A DATE AND TIME SCHEDULED BY THE SPEAKER
OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, IN THE CHAMBER
OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, WHEREBY COACH DAWN STALEY IS
INVITED TO ADDRESS THE JOINT SESSION.

W
hereas, the 2025-2026 University
of South Carolina women's basketball team completed a magical season, setting
program and individual records, and finishing as the NCAA runner-up for the
second consecutive year, following a 2024 national championship, the third in
program history; and

W
hereas, the Gamecocks displayed
hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout the regular season and during
the SEC and NCAA tournaments, always exhibiting sportsmanship and a can-do
attitude, and finishing with an impressive 36-4 record. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives,
the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General
Assembly, by this resolution, invite the University of South Carolina women's
basketball team and school officials to join the General Assembly in joint session
at a date and time scheduled by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and
the President of the Senate, in the chamber of the South Carolina House of
Representatives, and invite Coach
Dawn Staley to address the joint
session.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
be presented to Head Coach Dawn Staley and Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati.
