RESOLUTION

TO recognize the congregation, church staff, and Reverend
Dale McCoig of Enoree Baptist Church and to congratulate them as they celebrate
one hundred seventy-five years of ministry and service to their community.

W
hereas, Enoree Baptist
Church in Travelers Rest was founded on August 30, 1851, by a group of
seventeen charter members. A modest log building served the congregation from
1851 until 1859. From its earliest days, the founding members served to ground
the church in a strong commitment to faith and community by establishing the
clear guiding principles of adherence to the Bible as the sole standard of
faith, recognition of Jesus Christ as the head of the church, and a shared
responsibility to support one another spiritually and personally; and

W
hereas, as the church
grew, it became part of a broader network of churches, forming the Enoree
Baptist Association alongside seven other area churches. The congregation of
Enoree Baptist expanded both its physical presence and its outreach efforts
with one significant step that introduced a Sunday school which provided
structured religious education for members of all ages; and

W
hereas, the church
purchased a bus to transport individuals who otherwise lacked access to attend
services, highlighting its commitment to outreach. Beyond its own growth,
Enoree Baptist played a role in the development of other congregations, as some
of its members helped to establish and support new Baptist churches in
surrounding areas; and

W
hereas, the church
focuses outwardly to support for mission work, both within the United States
and internationally, demonstrating a commitment to spread its faith beyond its
immediate community; and

W
hereas, education
became an increasingly important part of the church's mission in the twentieth
century. In 1971-1972, Enoree Baptist Church (EBC) supported a kindergarten
program through its Bible School, emphasizing basic academic skills and
Christian values which reflected the church's belief in the importance of
nurturing both intellectual and spiritual growth from an early age; and

W
hereas, over the years,
this kindergarten program evolved into what is now known as EBC Academy. The
academy serves children from eight weeks old through four-year-old kindergarten
and continues the original mission of providing foundational education
alongside faith-based lessons; and

W
hereas, Enoree Baptist
has developed programs to serve individuals in all stages of life. The Enoree
Student Ministry and Enoree Kid's Ministry focus on engaging young people,
fostering their spiritual development, and encouraging them to build a
relationship with God from a young age. For older members, the church offers
the Young at Heart program, which supports senior adults by providing
fellowship opportunities and strengthening their faith within church community;
and

W
hereas, the church has
maintained a strong emphasis on compassion in the community through its
C.A.R.E. program, an initiative which supports and encourages individuals
within the church and the broader community, reflecting the founding principle
of mutual support among members; and

W
hereas, a century and
three quarters after its founding, Enoree Baptist Church continues to hold
firmly to the beliefs that first brought its members together with a clearly
defined purpose: "Enoree Baptist Church strives to glorify God by exalting
Christ, equipping Christians, and embracing community so that anyone and
everyone may experience the encouragement of life in the Spirit"; and

W
hereas, under the current
pastoral leadership of Reverend Dale McCoig, the church continues to grow while
staying grounded in its core values. A welcoming place for people from all
backgrounds to come together in faith, Enoree Baptist Church stands as a
testament to enduring faith. Now, therefore,
