RESOLUTION

to recognize and commend the honorable Elizabeth
Spencer Wetmore of Charleston County for her dedicated service in the House of
Representatives on behalf of her constituents and the citizens of South
Carolina and to wish her much success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina House of Representatives learned with sincere regret that Spencer
Wetmore will depart from the House of Representatives at the conclusion of her
current term; and

W
hereas, born on April
22, 1983, in Charleston, Spencer is the daughter of Kell Brunson Compton and
Melinda Lucka Kelley. She graduated from Princeton University with an artium
baccalaureus in 2005 and in 2010, she earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Vanderbilt
University School of Law; and

W
hereas, she served as the
assistant solicitor in Charleston County from 2010 to 2014 and the city administrator
of Folly Beach from 2014 to 2020. She also served as a member of the Tourism
Expenditure Review Committee from 2018 to 2020; and

W
hereas, Spencer
married her beloved husband Burns Malone Wetmore on May 3, 2014, and together
they are rearing two beautiful daughters, Brooks and Lola Kate. When away from
her duties in the House of Representatives, she lives with her family in Folly
Beach and serves as an attorney at Wetmore Law Firm; and

W
hereas, Representative
Wetmore has faithfully served the citizens of Charleston County's District 115 in
the House of Representatives since winning a special election on August 11, 2020.
In the House, she served on the Judiciary Committee and Rules Committee; and

W
hereas, the members of
the House of Representatives will miss the keen and impassioned service that Spencer
Wetmore, their friend and colleague, has given to the House of Representatives,
and hope that she will enjoy deep fulfillment in the years to come. Now, therefore,

House of Representatives

hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
,
by this resolution, recognize and commend the Honorable Elizabeth Spencer
Wetmore of Charleston County for her dedicated service in the House of
Representatives on behalf of her constituents and the citizens of South
Carolina and wish her much success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Elizabeth Spencer
Wetmore.
