RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE
HARTSVILLE'S GOSPEL IN THE PARK SERIES ON THE OCCASION OF ITS TWENTIETH
ANNIVERSARY AND TO WISH ITS STAFF AND SPONSORS MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE
YEARS TO COME.

W
hereas, the South
Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Hartsville's Gospel
in the Park Series is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2026. Founded by
the late Loretta B. Richardson and Barbara Carraway of Hartsville, the series
is based in Hartsville and held at Pride Park. The nonprofit organization is
dedicated to promoting community engagement through gospel music events. The
series provides a platform for local artists and fosters a sense of unity and
celebration within the community. Series events aim to uplift and inspire
attendees through live performances and fellowship; and

W
hereas, this six-month
free concert series begins in May (this year, Sunday, May 3) and concludes in
October. Under the theme "Bringing Unity Into Our Community," the series
features gospel entertainment and praising God through songs, along with a
devotional service by community pastors. In May, Mother's Day is recognized,
June emphasizes Men's Health Month and Father's Day, and July is all about
summer days. August brings a back-to-school rally with school supplies.
September focuses on Grandparents Day and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month,
while October looks at Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month; and

W
hereas, Gospel in the
Park is always held on the second Sunday of the month, except for May and
October events, which are scheduled for the first Sunday. All are welcome to
attend series events from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and

W
hereas, in addition,
attendees enjoy mini health fairs, various vendors, and more, as well as
amenities such as a picnic shelter, playground, and restrooms, all available at
Pride Park, which now boasts a new stage; and

W
hereas, the House
takes great pleasure in encouraging all citizens of this great State to
patronize and enjoy the Gospel in the Park Series. Now, therefore,

B
e it resolved by the
House of Representatives
:

T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
House of Representatives
