WILDER, FORMERLY WITH
THE POST AND COURIER
, ON HER NEW BERTH AS A
POLITICAL REPORTER FOR THE
ASSOCIATED PRESS

W
hereas, for three years, Anna Wilder served as a political and State
House reporter in South Carolina with
The Post and Courier
. During her
time covering the State House, including a year and a half at
The State
newspaper, she chronicled the state's most contentious policy fights in a wide
range of topics from criminal justice legislation to hemp-THC bills and
abortion laws, documenting both the legislative maneuvering and the people most
affected; and
W
hereas, a Florida native, she graduated from the University of
Florida, where she served as managing editor of
The Independent Florida
Alligator
, the university's student newspaper. Her work has appeared in
outlets such as
Politico
,
The Miami Herald
, and
ProPublica
;
and
W
hereas, recently, Ms. Wilder joined the
Associated Press
as a
political reporter covering voting, elections, and redistricting through
Report
for America
in Texas, a state that plays a major role in the nation's
politics. More particularly, Ms. Wilder will cover the impact of the changes to
redrawn congressional maps, as well as elections, voting rights, restrictions,
registration, and access, telling these stories originating at the state and
local level for national and global audiences in a competitive way; and

hereas, the House of Representatives is grateful for Anna Wilder's
years of service in the Palmetto State and is pleased that she enjoyed her time
in South Carolina. The members extend best wishes to this respected journalist
for much continued success as she takes up new duties and challenges in the
Lone Star State as a political reporter for the
Associated Press
