RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR South Carolina Alpha Delta
Kappa and its efforts in Supporting Education in the State.

W
hereas, South Carolina
Alpha Delta Kappa was founded in 1954 in Columbia and now has chapters located
all over the State. Its members include active and retired educators in all
levels of education, from preschools to college campuses, and they are
dedicated to serving their communities; and

W
hereas, South Carolina
Alpha Delta Kappa's goals for this biennium are helping children and families
prepare for school and supporting teachers in the classroom. Chapters
throughout the State have adopted families and schools to fulfill these goals. South
Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa and its chapters offer scholarships and grants to
future educators as well as those educators in the classroom; and

W
hereas, as civic
leaders, South Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa's members support their communities, donating
time and dollars to local needs. Chapters also support national philanthropies
like the Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and the
Alzheimer Association's Longest Day. South Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa has
supported schools and educators impacted by tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods.
As part of an international organization, they raised money to build schools in
Vietnam and Peru, as well as a bookmobile for a Cheyenne Arapaho tribe; and

hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that
the South Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa has shown in serving the people and the
State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Senate
, by this resolution,
recognize and honor South Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa and its efforts in
supporting education in the State.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to South Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa.
