TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR the members of the Phillips
family upon the OCCASION of their family reunion.

W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the Phillips family upon the
occasion of their family reunion on April 17, 2026; and

W
hereas, the Phillips
family, including the branches of the Phillips-Jeffcoat and Phillips-Smith
families, has established a proud and lasting legacy in Columbia; and

W
hereas, through
generations of service, leadership, sacrifice, and excellence, members of the
Phillips family have made meaningful contributions across several industries
and professions that have helped shape, strengthen, and uplift the community;
and

W
hereas, members of the
Phillips family have served our nation with honor and distinction as military
veterans, demonstrating courage, patriotism, discipline, and an unwavering
commitment to the ideals and freedoms we cherish; and

W
hereas, as elected
officials and dedicated public servants, members of this distinguished family
have also helped shape their community through leadership and public service,
helping to advance progress and represent the voices, interests, and
aspirations of the communities they serve; and

hereas, members of the
Phillips family have made a lasting impact in the field of education through
their inspiring teaching and mentorship, as well in civic leadership, serving
as postmasters, government officials, technology professionals, and other
trusted leaders in their community; and

hereas, members of
this esteemed family have also made notable contributions to sports and
athletics, and the arts, demonstrating teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and
community pride both on and off the field, while serving as role models for
younger generations; and

hereas, civic leaders,
the members of the Phillips family have also distinguished themselves through
nonprofit leadership, charitable service, and community outreach; and

hereas, this family
reunion serves not only as a joyful celebration of heritage, kinship, and
shared history, but also as a meaningful reminder of the importance of family
unity, generational legacy, and the enduring influence of those who came before
us; and

hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that
the Phillips family has shown in serving the people and the State of South
