TO CONGRATULATE JADA  M. SAMUEL, MISS SOUTH CAROLINA
2023, AND TO COMMEND her EXCEPTIONAL DISCIPLINE, ASPIRATIONS, AND TALENT THAT
HAVE ENABLED HER TO REPRESENT THE PALMETTO STATE WITH DIGNITY AND POISE.

W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate are proud to recognize Jada M. Samuel of Greenville
for winning Miss South Carolina 2023 on June 24, 2023, and serving as a significant
ambassador for the Palmetto State during her reign; and

W
hereas, possessing
both talent and intelligence, the twenty-six-year-old beauty competed as Miss
Bridge City and was crowned Miss South Carolina in the finals of the
competition held at the historic Township Auditorium in Columbia; and

W
hereas, Miss Samuel is
grateful for the opportunity her title is giving her to advocate as a creative
communicator, change agent, and champion for girls. For her talent, she
performed a monologue and won the Miss Evening Gown Award; and

W
hereas, she has earned over
eighty-five thousand dollars in scholarships through the Miss South Carolina
Scholarship Organization for her placement in the competition, her community
service, and dedication to her platform; and

W
hereas, after graduating from
the University of South Carolina, Miss Samuel began her career as a lifestyle
reporter before transitioning into the world of politics as a digital
strategist. She earned an MBA with a focus in marketing from Louisiana State
University Shreveport in 2023 and currently works with SCETV as an on-air host
and producer; and

W
hereas, Miss Samuel founded
the nonprofit mentoring organization, iShapeMe, that empowers girls and young
women to shape themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually; and

 

W
hereas, during her reign, she
provided a gracious and graceful role model that represents the combined
qualities of intellect, talent, loveliness, and charm admired by all who know
her; and

W
hereas, the South
Carolina Senate takes great pleasure in recognizing such an outstanding young
woman and representative of this great State as Jada Samuel, and the members
wish her well as she continues her reign and pursues her dreams in the years to
come. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
Senate
, by this resolution,
congratulate Jada  M. Samuel, Miss South Carolina 2023, and commend the
exceptional discipline, aspirations, and talent that have enabled her to
represent the Palmetto State with dignity and poise.
