RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE Wahalla High SCHOOL GIRLS Basketball
TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM
FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAA GIRLS Basketball STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
W
hereas, the South
Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Wahalla High School girls basketball
team for winning the South Carolina Class AAA girls basketball state
championship on March 6, 2026, at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia; and
W
hereas, this historic
win marks the program's second state championship in school history after
another historic win in 2025; and
W
hereas, in the
championship game, the Wahalla team defeated Keenan High School by a score of 70-58.
The Lady Razorbacks were led in scoring by junior forward Ashlyn Frick, who
scored twenty-three points. Sophomore guard Baylee Cannon had nineteen points,
going eight for thirteen from the floor, along with three assists and six
rebounds. Senior point guard and 2025 South Carolina Basketball Coaches
Association AAA Player of the Year Kami Roach had twelve points, seven assists,
six rebounds and two steals. Senior forward Miley White snagged twelve rebounds
and scored eight points. Sophomore guard Anna Medlin finished with six points,
and eighth-grade forward Peyton Williams had two; and

hereas, with an
exceptional season overall, the Lady Razorbacks had a record of 25-2 going into
the championship game and finished the season with a twenty-one-game winning streak;
and
W
hereas, the Wahalla
High School girls basketball team has flourished under the leadership and
guidance of Coach Byron Wimphrie; and
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Wahalla
High School girls basketball team has brought to its school and community and
look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and
its talented athletes. Now, therefore,

e it resolved by the
Senate
:
T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
Senate
, by this resolution,
congratulate the Wahalla High School girls basketball team, coaches, and school
officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning the South
Carolina Class AAA girls basketball state championship.
B
e it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Wahalla High School girls basketball
team, Coach Byron Wimphrie, and Principal Jennifer Crawford.
