To recognize the South Carolina Insurance
Association on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary and To Commend its
longstanding contributions to the State of South Carolina.

W
hereas, the South
Carolina Insurance Association was founded in 1976 as the South Carolina
Insurance News Service to serve as the unified voice of the property and
casualty insurance industry in South Carolina; and

W
hereas, over the past
fifty years, the association has evolved into a leading trade organization
representing licensed property and casualty insurance companies doing business
in South Carolina, along with affiliated companies and trade groups that
support the industry; and

W
hereas, the South
Carolina Insurance Association provides a formal and collaborative environment
in which its members and associates work together to address regulatory,
legislative, media, and consumer issues impacting the insurance marketplace;
and

W
hereas, the mission of the
South Carolina Insurance Association is to strengthen and improve the State's
insurance market by providing consumers and member companies with timely,
accurate information and valuable resources on relevant issues; and

W
hereas, the insurance industry
is a critical industry that protects property and investments, supports the
economy, is an institutional investor, taxpayer, employer, and helps its
policyholders manage through uncertainty and risks; and

W
hereas, the association has
consistently worked to provide its members with critical insights into South
Carolina's property and casualty insurance market, while also fostering
meaningful dialogue on industry challenges and opportunities; and

W
hereas, the South Carolina
Insurance Association has played an important role in enhancing the reputation
of the insurance industry by communicating reliable and accurate information to
public policymakers, the news media, consumers, and other interested
stakeholders; and

W
hereas, through its efforts,
the association has contributed to a more informed public, a more responsive
regulatory environment, and a stronger, more resilient insurance market in the
State of South Carolina; and

W
hereas, the year 2026
marks the fiftieth anniversary of the South Carolina Insurance Association, a
milestone that reflects decades of dedicated service, leadership, and
commitment to the people and businesses of this State. Now, therefore,

hat the members of the
South Carolina
Senate
, by this resolution,
recognize the South Carolina Insurance Association on the occasion of its
fiftieth anniversary and commend its longstanding contributions to the State of
South Carolina.
