RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND
HONOR MENDY CORDER, MUNICIPAL CLERK FOR THE CITY OF CAYCE, UPON THE OCCASION OF
HER RETIREMENT AFTER NEARLY THREE DECADES OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER
CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS
.
W
hereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate have learned that Mendy Corder will begin a well-deserved
retirement after twenty-nine years with the City of Cayce, the last of which
have been as the city's distinguished and highly regarded municipal clerk; and
W
hereas, at the age of
twenty-four, Ms. Corder began her storied career with the City of Cayce as the city's
receptionist in 1996, where her welcoming presence and organizational skills
quickly made her a valuable part of the team; and
W
hereas, she served in
the records department at the Cayce Police Department, supporting critical
operations with professionalism, accuracy, and discretion, before she returned to
city hall, where her leadership and institutional knowledge continued to grow. Ms.
Corder served as administrative coordinator for the City Manager's Office; and
W
hereas, as the
administrative coordinator, Ms. Corder played a key role in the day-to-day
operations of city government and took on the responsibilities of municipal clerk,
a role essential to ensure transparency, compliance, and the smooth functioning
of city council and municipal processes; and
W
hereas, she oversaw
events, bringing the vision to life from the Mayors Institute for City Design for
the award-winning Soiree on State. She managed public buildings, contributing
behind the scenes to many of the programs, initiatives, meetings, and community
events that residents and staff have come to enjoy and rely on with keen
attention to detail, steady guidance, and commitment to service; and
W
hereas, for more than
Soiree on State, Ms. Corder gave leadership and organizational skills to such
events as the Bluegrass Festival, Fall Fest, and appreciation dinners, and she assisted
with the development of the Cayce Art Lot and the creation of the Cayce Cool
Down, using her leadership and assistance to ensure each initiative's success,
all the while faithfully carrying out her municipal clerk responsibilities and
maintaining public buildings on campus; and
W
hereas, grateful for
her many years of distinguished service to City of Cayce, the South Carolina Senate
takes great pleasure in extending best wishes to Mendy Corder as she
transitions to a richly deserved retirement and the unhurried pace of the days
ahead, and the members wish her many years of enjoyment in her well-earned
retirement. Now, therefore,

e it resolved by the
Senate
:
T
hat the members of the
South Carolina
Senate
, by this resolution,
recognize and honor Mendy Corder, municipal clerk for the City of Cayce, upon
the occasion of her retirement after nearly three decades of exemplary service,
and wish her continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mendy Corder.
