A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION recognizing the Agricultural Issues team of the
West Central FFA chapter and celebrating their first -place victory in the state
competition and their journey to nationals.
WHEREAS, the National FFA Organization changes lives and prepares youth for premier
leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education; and
WHEREAS, the West Central chapter from Hartford, South Dakota, is comprised of students
Holly Berg, Kenasyn Johnson, Ganon Lienhard, Teagan Lupkes, Alex Siemonsma, Stella
Siemonsma, and Nate Struck, and is led by teacher Linda Petersen; and
WHEREAS, the Agricultural Issues team of the West Central FFA chapter researched and
discussed the agricultural, environmental, and economic pros and cons of new autonomous
systems in agriculture; and
WHEREAS, the Agricultural Issues team presented in front of the House Agriculture and Natural
Resources committee and the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources committee; and
WHEREAS, the West Central FFA chapter placed first in the 2025 State Leadership Development
Events;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the State
of South Dakota, that the West Central FFA chapter is celebrated for the Agricultural Issues team's
success at the 2025 State Leadership Development Events.
