A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION recognizing ten years of the Wall Economic
Development Corporation.
WHEREAS, the Wall Economic Development Corporation was founded ten years ago to
revitalize economic growth and opportunity in Wall; and
WHEREAS, the founding of the Wall Economic Development Corporation demonstrated
foresight and innovation and continues to position Wall as a vibrant place to live, work, and
do business; and
WHEREAS, in 2025, the Wall Economic Development Corporation accomplished much
through city and community collaboration, including rail spur opportunities, industrial park
marketing, the launch of Fly Badlands to highlight aviation infrastructure, and expa nding
workforce development and leadership programs, among many more accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, the Wall Economic Development Corporation, at its 2025 annual meeting,
recognized particular contributions by giving the Business Retention and Expansion Award to
Hansen Inn & Cabins; the Business Development Award to Ana Komar, owner of Fly Badlands;
the Homegrown Success Award to Small Town Glo and its founder, Ashton Swift; and the
Friends of Economic Development Award to Dakota Resources for supporting rural community
growth and capacity building; and
WHEREAS, the Corporation's leadership, volunteers, and community partners have all
strengthened their resolve to continue their mission into the next decade of operation, aiming
to generate momentum and opportunity for Wall and economic vitality and prosperity for the
next generation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the
State of South Dakota, that the Wall Economic Development Corporation's ten -year
anniversary be honored along with all that the corporation has done in that time to ensure an
abundance of opportunity and prosperity in Wall for years to come.
