AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4,
Chapter 1, Part 3, relative to designating cast iron
cookware as the official frontier cookware of this
state.

WHEREAS, from treasured family heirlooms to the recipes that have come to symbolize
our diverse communities, cast iron cookware is a big part of who we are as Tennesseans; and
WHEREAS, cast iron cookware has played an integral part in how things have gotten
done here in the Volunteer State, drawing upon the State's vast natural resources and industrial
might; and
WHEREAS, cast iron cookware not only brings us together around the table, it still
satisfies our modern consumer needs in that it's chemical free, infinitely recyclable, and made to
last for generations; and
WHEREAS, as this country celebrates its two hundred fiftieth birthday, it is important that
we recognize the rich and time-honored traditions of our own State; now, therefore,
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 1, Part 3, is amended by
adding the following as a new section:
Cast iron cookware is designated and adopted as the official frontier cookware of
this state.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
